Cheer skills
Hey guys. I will be telling you about the different cheer skills. When you think of cheer skills you think of football games. It’s not just that though. There’s tumbling and stunts. Tumbling takes time to get different skills. I started cheering when I was 5. It took me a long time to get to the skills. I started on my cartwheel then I started working up my skills slowly. My favorite skill is a standing tuck.
A day if a life at cheer practice
For this blog I will be telling you about a day in the life of cheer. First once I get to practice I put my bag down. Then I get my cheer shoes out and put them on. After I go with my team and start warming up. Once we are warmed up we get with stunt groups then and start warming them up. Each group has to do a full up, half, and lib. A half is when you put the girl half way in the air. Then a full up is having your arms straight with the girl all the way up in the air. A lib is when the girl is all the way up in the air with balancing on one leg.
After that we get in spaces to start the tumble warm up. The people that have higher skills start in the front. We do round offs and cartwheels to start. The people that can only do those skills wait while the other people do round off back springs and tucks. My coach will then tell us to get the beginning of the routine and we will do the whole routine. After the routine is done we get a water break. Most of the time my team will do 4 full outs more if we don’t get every skill to hit. By this time practice is over and it is 2 hours.
