This week in Mrs. Tompkins class, 6th grade students are learning about multiplication and fractions.

Alissa is very engaged and focused on the work, and sometimes can get stressed from the homework. She said she gets one or more pages of homework a week. “Class work is not hard, but not easy,” she said.

Students use Khan Academy to get better at Math. Alissa does about about one hour of Khan Academy a day. Brandon spends five to ten minutes a day working on the program and says it helps him improve.

Students have made their trimester goal settings by thinking of the things there good at and what they want to be good at. Also they made mini me’s of themselves. They measured themselves with a partner, and then made a picture with the measurements, cut them out, and put them with their goals.
