What the bears should be doing in free agency

As the NFL season winds down one of the most crucial parts of the season comes around, the offseason. Seeing as the Bears have no first round picks as a result of 2018’s trade with the Oakland Raiders for All-Pro linebacker Khalil Mack. The trade has shook up the league as with Mack on the roster, the defense vastly improved. With free agency in full swing this has already been a hugely impactful year. With superstars signing to new teams left and right the Bears need to find a way to maximize the offseason this year and building a better team

The chaos started with future hall of fame QB Tom Brady leaving the Patriots, the team he had played 19 years and won 6 Super Bowls in. When Brady and New England couldn’t come to an agreement he left for free agency and would sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Rob Gronkowski leaving retirement to join Brady in Tampa, people are expecting that the Buccaneers will have one of the most dangerous teams in the league. If the Bears want to compete on that level they need to go after high value players and stop relying on the draft as much.
