My favorite skater of all time, Aaron “Jaws” Homoki was born on February 2, 1990 (age 31) in Phoenix, Arizona. He competed in the X-games at just 18 years old in 2008, but that is not what he is most known for. What gave Jaws his fame was his ability to withstand drops from enormous heights, and stay on his skateboard. He has always been fascinated by jumping from large things, when he was 10 years old, he would do flips off of his house and on to his trampoline.

His most famous feat of all time was landing an ollie off of the Lyon 25. The Lyon 25 is a 25 stair in Lyon, France. The stair set was never ollied until Ali Boulala attempted in 2003. Although not successful, Boulala paved the way for extreme skaters like Jaws to attempt to ollie the stairs. On his first attempt, Jaws flew out to France and traveled from his hotel to the stairs. He cleared the stairs with an incredible ollie, but broke his board on the landing and tore his MCL. Despite this, he persevered through the injury and attempted the stairs again in 2016, this time, walking away unscathed and landing the trick. His story, in my opinion, is one of the greatest stories of the perseverance that skaters have. Some may call him crazy for trying to land the trick that almost ended his career, but he did it anyway and now is known as one of the greatest skateboarders of all time.
