If you have been online for even just 5 minutes chances are you have seen a capybara. Capybaras are fluffy large rodents that look positively adorable. Similar to the axolotl, capybaras got famous on tick tock and now are a meme.

But don’t be fooled these rodents are the least of conservationist’s concerns there are ½ a million of them left. They are native to Brazil and are herbivores. Their hype is just Tik Tock’s algorithms hyping a cute animal. I believe that capybaras are overhyped and they don’t deserve nearly as much hype as they get.
