Mario Today: Fum Or Ham
First, one Mario video game that I would rate would be Mario Party Superstars. This game came out in 2021 and can be played on a Nintendo Switch. For those who didn’t know, Mario Party is pretty much just a board game, but in video game version. In order to win, you have to collect as many stars or coins as you can before your competition reaches them. This game is actually based on an older game version of Mario Party from many, many years ago. After a long experience playing this game, I would say that this game is okay and fun to play. I like most of the mini games and it is really organized. There are items to use to slow down opponents and get you closer to the star. I would say that there should be more maps or boards added and more options for characters since there are so many characters and enemies in the Mario games.
Another Mario video game that I would rate is Mariokart 8 Deluxe. Mariokart came out in the year 2017 and can also be played on the Switch. In this game, you can race others and C.P.U.s. The goal of the game is to simply win the races. This game is one of the most popular Mario games right now. And I couldn’t agree more. To me, Mariokart is one of my personal favorites. What I like about it is how fun and whimsical it is. There are so many ways to race, from online playing, grand prix, new courses and even battling others.
Mario Before: Wow Or Ow
After playing a Mario game called Mario Maker 2, which came out in 2019, I have been able to see what Mario games from the past are like. This way, I can be able to rate these games. The first old Mario game that I would critique is the original Super Mario Bros. This game came out in 1985 on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This game is one of the first Nintendo games along with games like The Legend Of Zelda and Excitebike. Like all Mario games, the objective of this game is for Mario to save Princess Peach from Lord Bowser. Now what I like about this game is its originality and because it is fun and challenging. I would give it a good rating.
Another old Mario game that I would critique is Super Mario World. This game was released in 1990 on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The objective is the same with Super Mario Bros with Mario saving Peach. This game stands out because of its animation and sound effects. It’s even the game that first introduced Yoshi. One thing that I like about it is how fun and old-fashioned it is. I would also give this game a good rating of four stars.
