In case you for some reason do not know what this game is, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a crossover fighting game with many different franchises that fight against each other. The Roster here is filled with 69-77 characters in one game, which allows some really competitive gameplay. Smash is known for having some of its famous dlc characters in Pack 1 and Pack 2. I would like to share my thoughts with you on these new character:

Fighter 70 – Piranha Plant:

This is a character no one would expect. He was revealed on November 1, 2018, along with Ken and Incineroar, and was released on February 1, 2019, as a dlc not part of Fighter’s Pass 1. It’s design was weird and cool in a way he can walk with little feet under his pot. His moveset looks very whacky in a way where people can literally use this to rack damage and have good kill options.

Fighter 71 – Joker:

This character was revealed in the Game Awards of 2018 on Smash Ultimate’s release, and was released on April 17, 2019. He is interesting since his main games mainly come from the playstation consoles and seeing him in smash and with his little mechanics would have people see him as a top tier. His moveset looks like it would be good for gimping, doing decent damage, and

his special involving Arsene, making his attacks stronger and better.

Fighter 72 – Hero:

The Hero was revealed on June 11th, 2019, alongside Banjo, and released on July 30th. When seeing this character in his reveal trailer, people were confused due to the fact of how many moves he can do and perform. When he was released, he was soon discovered to be broken and random, due to his down-b and the random crits on his smash attacks. His down-b is a command selection which can give him many options/attacks to choose from. One that has moves like Thwack and Whack, which can kill at any percent, but it has a high chance of killing if the opponent is at a higher percent. Another called Hocus Pocus is actually random, in which he can grow big, lose his mp, etc. With his crits, he has 1/8 chance to to deal massive damage and knockback when landing a smash attack?

Fighter 73 – Banjo & Kazooie:

They were finally here. After all those years, Banjo & Kazooie has been added to the roster. He was revealed on June 11th 2019, alongside with Hero, and released on September 4th, 2019, where Terry was also revealed that day. People were really excited and happy for this character to be in Smash and they’re here. Most of Banjo’s attacks are somewhat similar to Mario, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K Rool. People seem to really love using one of his moves, Wonderwing as it allows him to use this move 5 times per stock. Once he is out of wonderwings, he can’t use them until his stock is lost.

Fighter 74 – Terry:

The fighter from Fatal Fury was revealed in September 2019, and released in November, 6th 2019. Terry had a lot up his kit.

When he was revealed on his moveset, his playstyle was somewhat similar to Ryu and Ken, except his movesets were different obviously. His gimmick is once he is 100% or higher, a “Go” will appear on his render, meaning he can access super special moves if players do his inputs right. Two of them are called Power Geyser and Buster Wolf.

Fighter 75 – Byleth:

With the last DLC Fighter of Pack 1, everyone was extremely disappointed with this one due to Byleth being another Fire Emblem character. Byleth was revealed on January 16th 2020, and released on January 28th, 2020. They didn’t care about Byleth wielding more weapons than just a sword, they are upset about Sakurai with the character they got, but when it comes to his moveset, most of they’re moves can break shields, and can kill earlier, despite them being slow. So while many can’t like this character, they can be grateful for what the Fighter Pass has given them.

Fighter 76 – Min Min:

Fighters Pass 2 got its first fighter named Min Min, who came from the Arms series. She was revealed on June 22, 2020, and released on June 30th, 2020When Sakurai announced that on March 26, 2020, a character from Arms would be released in Summer. When Min Min was revealed on June 22, 2020, people already expected this character to be broken due to the long range of her arms, and they were correct. Her moveset was unique too, due to buttons that involved the A button used her left arm, while the B button involved using her right arm.

Fighter 77 – Steve:

This character is a legend that no one will ever forget. He was revealed on October 1st, 2020, and released on October 13, 2020. This character broke the internet due to everyone in shock and surprise that Steve from Minecraft was in smash. When Sakurai revealed his moveset, it led people to believe that he was extremely broken due to him gaining more height with his blocks, and gaining his materials faster with neutral b mining, depending on the stage the player picks. When he was in the game, people always used his blocks to edgeguard players. This was truly a character no one will forget.
