Chicken sandwiches have become a very controversial topic at fast food restaurants. In today’s blog post I will be ranking the 2 most controversial and my personal favorite. Let’s get started.

*ALL OF THE SANDWICHES I WILL BE DISCUSSING ARE THE SPICY VERSIONS AND IT IS JUST PLAIN (The bread and the bun). I DID THIS SO THE SANDWICH WASN’T OVER POWERED BY EVERYTHING ELSE*

First, let’s start off with Popeyes. Popeyes are known for having amazing chicken and they did not disappoint when it came to their chicken sandwiches. On a light fluffy brioche bun, with a creamy spicy sauce. The sauce is a mayo, typically I don’t enjoy mayo, but this sauce is an exception. The spiciness covers up the flavor of the mayo, but doesn’t fully cover it. The bun is buttery and sweet. The chicken is one of the only chicken items out there that actually looks like the advertisement. It is nice and crispy yet light enough so it doesn’t feel like you’re over eating. Overall I give Popeyes 11/10.

Then came Popeyes’ opponent, Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A has a general basic spicy chicken sandwich, I’m not saying that it is bad, I’m just saying that compared to other options, it is extremely basic. Instead of the spicy sauce like Popeyes, the chicken is cooked with a spicy spice into the chicken. The bun is yet again another brioche bun. My issue with the Popeyes vs Chick-Fil-A debate is that they are very differently made sandwiches. Chick-Fil-A is just the more basic sandwich of the debate. Popeyes brings crispy chicken with a spicy sauce and a sweet bun, Chick-Fil-A brings us a crispy chicken breast (not as crispy) which already has spice on it, and a somewhat sweet bun. As this paragraph has gone on, I’m sure you’ve figured out my final ranking on this debate. Popeyes is the obvious choice when it comes to getting a good chicken sandwich. Out of ten I would give Chick-Fil-A a 6-10 and Popeyes a 11-10.
