What I think the Young Authors will do for the kids who do it.

“Creative writing will also help to improve intellectual skills. Their sentence structure, vocabulary and use of punctuation will be notably more advanced than others of the same age who do not practice creative writing” (The Importance of Creative Writing in the Youth). I agree with this because kids should learn those important skills for future jobs or high school. The Young Authors Program is a way for young kids to embrace their words, thoughts, and skills. I write to relax and to express myself.

How the past years have gone for the Young Authors.

The young authors program has been at Carl Sandburg for a while. In the school year 2021-2022 the voting and writing was around the end of the year. An estimate of 50 students will write a piece they think is best. These students are chosen by the language arts teachers. Then different students will vote/rate what they think of this. A cool part of this is students that like art could make the cover in their perspective of what the writing means to them.

One of the people in charge of the young anthers program said that a language arts teacher will choose three students and their writing piece to be presented. “Essay writing promotes critical thinking whereby you reflect on an issue and reach a conclusion. It pushes students to assess different arguments so that they can come up with stronger positions. Through critical thinking, students learn how to observe different perspectives and views”.Why is essay writing very useful for students?
