Manufacturers have fought to make the best engine over the decades. They fight to have the most powerful and gas efficient engine on the market. They also fight to make the most reliable engine possible. While trying to do this they still must follow government guidelines in order to make them legal. Not only that but they have to try and make as little mistakes as possible and try and ace the guidelines on the first try. For me a great engine must have reasonable horsepower and have reasonable gas mileage.

In my opinion the manufacturer with the best engine is Dodge. They offer a 6.4 liter hemi engine that makes 485 horsepower and has 15/24 miles per gallon. Most other manufacturers offer engines smaller than that and have more gas mileage. GM offers a 6.0 liter engine that offers 275 horsepower and 22/31 miles per gallon which is good just not enough power. The 6.4L hemi offers reliability and power all for low cost. It is also very low maintenance which is good if you don’t want to spend so much money on maintaining your car. So overall Dodge has the best engine.
